What is your most PAINFUL Bears memory?<\/p>\n
This one was a bit easier for me simply because it\u2019s more objective than the subjective moment I would change. Meaning, I can pinpoint the moment where the gut punch felt worse than ever before.<\/p>\n
Expectations were high after one of the most successful seasons this century thanks in large part to one of the most dominating defenses in franchise history.<\/p>\n
Chicago (12-4) had won nine of their last ten games and was the 3 seed hosting the 6 seed Philadelphia Eagles. Nick Foles gave the hobbled Bears secondary all they could handle without Eddie Jackson but Chicago\u2019s defense still forced a couple interceptions and sacked Foles one time.<\/p>\n
On offense, Chicago struggled to run the ball that day, but Mitch Trubisky had a very solid day throwing for over 300 yards (143 of which to Allen Robinson) including a would-be game winning drive – setting Chicago up for a 43 yard FG with just 10 seconds remaining.<\/p>\n
All Cody Parkey had to do was make the kick.<\/p>\n
But he double-doinked it.<\/p>\n
And just like that, the Bears season was over. The Eagles would go on to lose against the 1-seed Saints, who would then lose to the 2-seed Rams (a team Chicago dominated just one month earlier) and the Patriots would end up winning the Super Bowl 13-3 in one of the most boring Super Bowl\u2019s of all time.<\/p>\n
Oh, what could have been.<\/p>\n
Easily the hardest single memory as a Bears fan for me.<\/p>\n
