The Los Angeles Rams\u2019 bold roster moves and draft picks have the team poised for another Super Bowl run.<\/p>\n

Mike Jones of The Athletic<\/a> broke down the offseason\u2019s winners and losers, and the Rams\u2019 splashy moves put them in position for both another championship run this season and for years ahead.<\/p>\n

Myles Garrett trade was league\u2019s biggest move<\/p>\n

Bringing in football\u2019s premier pass rusher<\/a> is no easy feat, but that\u2019s exactly what the Rams did.<\/p>\n

Garrett is a perennial All-Pro, and though it cost them the young defender Jared Verse, it added to an already much improved defense.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat acquisition, coupled with the additions of Chiefs cornerbacks Trent McDuffie in another trade and Jaylen Watson in free agency<\/a>, could put defensive coordinator Chris Shula\u2019s unit over the top,\u201d Jones wrote. \u201cWith a defense like that, Sean McVay\u2019s potent offense could further torment opponents, and the Rams could win another Super Bowl in their stadium this winter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yes, that\u2019s right: The Rams could again play for a Lombardi Trophy in their home of SoFi Stadium, just as they did when they beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in 2022.<\/p>\n

While that move was a blockbuster, it was a more scrutinized decision that may ultimately prove brilliant for general manager Les Snead, Jones wrote.<\/p>\n

Building for the future<\/p>\n

While Snead \u201craised eyebrows by drafting quarterback Ty Simpson in the first round<\/a>,\u201d picking a likely successor for the 38-year-old Matthew Stafford could prove the Rams\u2019 masterstroke, Jones explained.<\/p>\n

Simpson will now have \u201cadequate time to develop before taking the field,\u201d creating the opportunity for \u201ca smoother transition down the line,\u201d Jones said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Rams have fortified themselves for both the short and long term,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Of course, all of this depends on how this season shakes out. A narrow loss to division rival and eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle was painful for Rams fans, and with this level of activity, it\u2019s championship or bust for the Rams this season.<\/p>\n
