Commanders TE Zach Ertz<\/a> suffered a torn ACL in his right knee in Week 14 and said the process of getting back to full strength is ongoing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re in a good spot. We\u2019re like five, almost six months\u00a0now from surgery,\u201d Ertz said<\/a>. \u201cJust training every day, doing everything I can to get back to where I was. It\u2019s a long process. There\u2019s some long days, there\u2019s some long weeks, some long months . . . it\u2019s tough, but we\u2019re just trying to stack these days right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott<\/a> said that the defense is playing with \u201ca lot of confidence,\u201d and he\u2019s excited to see them when the team enters the contact phase.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, they\u2019re playing with a lot of confidence,\u201d Prescott said, via the team\u2019s website<\/a>. \u201cYou can just tell by the way they\u2019re communicating \u2014 whether it\u2019s walkthroughs, whether it\u2019s out there at practice, 7-on-7 [drills], yeah, guys are taking ownership in what they\u2019re being asked. We\u2019ve got great energy from not only C.P., but the rest of the coaches, so it\u2019ll be a battle. They\u2019ve already gotten us in some of these plays, and in OTAs, and the rush isn\u2019t even [allowed yet]. So, once you let Quinnen and [Rashan] Gary and Kenny [Clark] and all those guys take off and put pressure on me, I\u2019m sure it\u2019s gonna be tougher.\u201d<\/p>\n

Giants OLB Brian Burns<\/a> believes that the best is ahead of OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux<\/a>, and he\u2019s proud of how he\u2019s responded to this offseason, with trade rumors and a lot of competition for playing time in New York\u2019s loaded edge rusher room.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so proud of Thibs, dog. And I don\u2019t want to sound all sentimental or whatever, but just the man he is and he\u2019s becoming, like the way he handles his business, is something that\u2019s really inspirational. He\u2019s doing everything right. He\u2019s leaving no stones unturned, and that\u2019s something that I really commend him on because he is put in tough situations at times, and he\u2019s handled it like a pro,\u201d Burns said, via Giants Wire<\/a>.<\/p>\n
