The Baltimore Ravens entered the 2024 NFL season with high expectations, as they had a talented roster which was led by 2x AP MVP winner, Lamar Jackson, and their formidable tight end Mark Andrews. They finished the regular season with a 12-5 record, for which the Ravens secured secured a top seed in the AFC and advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs. However, their Super Bowl aspirations were once again shattered and this time by the hands of Buffalo Bills team. The Ravens made a lot of crucial mistakes throughout the game, but none more pivotal than Mark Andrews\u2019s dropped 2-point conversion pass that could have tied the game in the final moments.<\/p>\n

The drop was undoubtedly a heart crushing moments for all of the Ravens\u2019 fans and of course Mark Andrews, who was extremely disappointed in himself, as we saw during the final stretches of the game. Despite having a stellar season with a career-high 11 touchdowns and playing all 17 games for the first time since 2021, that missed opportunity was a haunting moment and Andrews still hasn\u2019t forgotten about it, to this day. Their superstar QB, Lamar Jackson, shouldered the blame collectively, as he was heard consoling Andrews at the side line saying, \u201cIt\u2019s on all of us bro. We a team. It ain\u2019t just you.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Andrews received multiple death threats for the catch drop and as much as we hate our teams losing, it should never go that far. With that said, recently, Andrews sat down with reporters and reflected on the drop that broke a lot of hearts last season. Here\u2019s what he said.<\/p>\n

Moving Forward From the Drop<\/p>\n

In his first comments since the season ended, Andrews spoke frankly after a recent practice, as he addressed the emotional toll of the drop. \u201cIt\u2019s tough. This is my life,\u201d he said, reflecting back on his intense dedication he\u2019s poured into football all these years. Andrews is 29 years old and will be turning 30 soon. Although he admitted the pain in that moment, he seems more resilient than ever stating, \u201cIt doesn\u2019t always go your way, but it\u2019s how you bounce back.\u201d <\/p>\n

Andrews also claimed that he had a really good off season thus far, and has been using that moment from last season to try and become an even better player. \u201cI look at the outside noise and look myself in the mirror obviously. And just know the type of player I am. Know the type of work I put in and as a professional it\u2019s all about being able to move past it, but storing that in the memory bank and understanding that this is not the end. This is something I\u2019m going to work with and get better, improve, and move on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the drop, Andrews is one of the best tight ends in the NFL currently and is extremely important piece for the Ravens\u2019 success. As the 2025 NFL comes closer, we wonder what improvements has Andrews made and what he\u2019s added to his game so far.<\/p>\n
