{"id":9353,"date":"2025-04-29T09:18:10","date_gmt":"2025-04-29T09:18:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/9353\/"},"modified":"2025-04-29T09:18:10","modified_gmt":"2025-04-29T09:18:10","slug":"jamon-dumas-johnson-joins-green-bay-packers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/9353\/","title":{"rendered":"Jamon Dumas-Johnson joins Green Bay Packers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another Kentucky Wildcats has found his NFL home, as the Green Bay Packers signed Jamon Dumas-Johnson as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbnation.com\/nfl-draft\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:NFL Draft;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">NFL Draft<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ranked as a 4-star prospect coming out of high school, Dumas-Johnson was featured on the HBO Documentary \u201cThe Cost of Winning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>The former Georgia Bulldogs standout was a two-time national champion prior to transferring to Kentucky for his final season of college football.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019d show up in a major way by leading the Wildcats in tackles (67) with over six per game, which was among the top-25 in the SEC. The experience that Dumas-Johnson brought to the locker room was a much-needed attribute as the Cats battled some of the best offenses in the country. He was a pillar of consistency in the 11 games he saw action.<\/p>\n<p>In his first-ever defensive series as a Wildcat, Dumas-Johnson snagged what was only his second career interception, setting up a touchdown against Southern Miss.<\/p>\n<p>There are concerns about his ability to successfully transition into the NFL and determine exactly where he could find success within the professional ranks.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Lance Zierlen, draft analyst at NFL.com, wrote this profile on Dumas-Johnson and what he projects him to be at the next level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInside linebacker with decent career production but a disappointing lack of consistency on his 2024 tape. The Georgia transfer frequently looked listless at Kentucky. He was inefficient in his read-and-react and encountered too many squared blocks. He flashes know-how and an ability to track near the line of scrimmage. Dumas-Johnson lacks speed and explosiveness to range from sideline to sideline, though.
