Dallas could bring back some familiar faces.<\/p>\n
Perhaps the biggest surprise player still on the market is edge\u00a0Jadeveon Clowney. Clowney joined Dallas midseason and subsequently led the club in sacks with 8.5, as he caught fire down the stretch of the season. There\u2019s certainly still a place in the league for the 33-year old mercenary, who may be choosing not to accept an offer before identifying where he can best be served in the pursuit of a playoff appearance.<\/p>\n
In addition to these three, the following free agents ended the season on the Cowboys\u2019 roster.<\/p>\n
LB Logan Wilson<\/a> (retired)<\/p>\n RB Miles Sanders<\/a><\/p>\n CB CJ Goodwin (retired)<\/p>\n OL Hakeem Adeniji<\/a><\/p>\n DT Perrion Winfrey<\/a><\/p>\n CB Corey Ballentine<\/a><\/p>\n Good things coming from the Tyler Guyton camp.<\/p>\n Tyler Guyton & Eagles\u2019 Lane Johnson<\/a> Making Each Other Better<\/p>\n Guyton has been spending time this offseason with Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> starting left tackle and future Hall of Famer Lane Johnson, along with several other Super Bowl champions, All-Pros, and Pro Bowlers.<\/p>\n Other linemen who have participated in the workouts are New England Patriots<\/a> starting left tackle Will Campbell<\/a>, Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/a> offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs<\/a>, a three-time All-Pro who has been selected to five consecutive Pro Bowls, Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> superstar center Creed Humphrey<\/a>, and five-time Pro Bowler Dion Dawkins of the Buffalo Bills<\/a>.<\/p>\n With an open competition for the starting left tackle job, it is crucial for Guyton to take a leap forward for his third year in the league, especially as the perceived weak link on the offensive line. Dallas\u2019 offense is also returning all 11 starters from the impressive 2025 campaign, so the team will be counting on Guyton or Thomas to protect Dak Prescott<\/a>\u2019s blindside so the unit can reach its maximum potential.<\/p>\n Guyton has appeared in 25 games with 21 starts across his first two seasons in the NFL, playing in 93 percent of snaps during the 10 games he appeared in last season. Let\u2019s hope that the work he has put in this offseason pays off when the team kicks off training camp and the preseason in a matter of weeks.<\/p>\n There are no guarantees for Marist Luifau.<\/p>\n The Cowboys have added a total of eight linebackers over the offseason, highlighted by rookies Malachi Lawrence and Jaishawn Barham<\/a> along with veteran acquisitions Rashan Gary<\/a>, Dee Winters<\/a> and Curtis Robinson<\/a>.<\/p>\n At this point, the group is in shuffle as Parker tries to figure out who is best suited for playing which particular spot. But, what we do know is, Liufau is no longer on the inside.<\/p>\n In two seasons, Liufau has started a total of 14 games in Dallas and, let\u2019s be real \u2026 has been just plain bad.<\/p>\n On the surface, it makes sense to at least try him out as a pass rusher because of how poor he is in coverage. Over his two seasons in Dallas, Liufau has allowed 35 receptions on 39 targets and is nearly giving up a first down every single time he allows a catch (9.5 yards per reception\u00a0per\u00a0Pro Football Focus<\/a>).<\/p>\n He hasn\u2019t been all that good against the run, either, if we\u2019re being honest. He boasts a missed tackle percentage of 18.4. One out of every five times he has his hands on a ball carrier, they escape.<\/p>\n As an inside linebacker, Liufau has a short leg to stand on making the switch to the outside. During his two seasons, he does have 3.0 sacks and 14 hurries.<\/p>\n But, the Cowboys just couldn\u2019t continue allowing him to hurt the defense while playing on the inside.<\/p>\n The division will almost certainly be more competitive this year.<\/p>\n The Eagles aren\u2019t finished. They will still be a very competitive team.<\/p>\n Jalen Hurts<\/a> still has the ability to make some noise, Saquon Barkley<\/a> is always a problem, and DeVonta Smith<\/a> can still catch the ball. Oh, and don\u2019t forget about the offensive line. They\u2019re\u00a0still monsters up in Philadelphia<\/a>.<\/p>\n The problem they will run into is that\u00a0Hurts likes plays that are simple<\/a>. He wants easy throws that will turn into big plays. He doesn\u2019t want to work for yards through the air because he isn\u2019t the best at going through the progressions.<\/p>\n
