The Bengals signed WR Dohnte Meyers this offseason following his time with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL. Meyers reflected on suffering multiple injuries with the Roughriders that ended his 2024 season, saying he leaned on his support system to get him through the tough times.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe all felt it together, and it was just like \u2018we\u2019re going to get through this, this isn\u2019t it,’\u201d Meyers said, via Michael Hull of the team\u2019s site<\/a>. \u201cWe didn\u2019t come this far just to come this far.\u201d<\/p>\n Meyers returned from a separated shoulder to have a strong 2025 season with the Roughriders.<\/p>\n \u201cWe saw a glimpse, we got a taste, we\u2019re not going to let that define me,\u201d Meyers said. \u201cWe\u2019re going to do the real version now.\u201d<\/p>\n Saskatchewan went on to win the CFL\u2019s Grey Cup in 2025, where Meyers had four receptions for 76 yards. Meyers said he is grateful for his path to the NFL.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cFootball is not always friendly,\u201d Meyers said. \u201cThat was just mentally refreshing to experience, not just all the good stuff but coupled with the story, the journey to get there\u2026I feel like I developed a healthy relationship, not only with myself but with the game and the craft.\u201d<\/p>\n The Ravens go into their offseason program with competition for the starting center role between Danny Pinter<\/a> and Jovaughn Gwyn<\/a>. Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson<\/a> thinks both options are looking promising.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThose guys are competing well. They\u2019re doing a pretty good job to me,\u201d Jackson said, via Ryan Mink of the team\u2019s site<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m liking our choices, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n Ravens HC Jesse Minter called it a \u201cpretty balanced competition\u201d between the two.<\/p>\n \u201cI would say it\u2019s a pretty balanced competition right now,\u201d Minter said. \u201cI think Danny and Jovaughn both have done a great job. \u2026 With that position especially \u2014 because we haven\u2019t had pads on yet, and they\u2019re new \u2014 that will definitely sort itself out a little more as we get pads on.\u201d<\/p>\n Minter on Jackson: \u201cThere\u2019s no one I\u2019d rather have as the quarterback, the leader of this team. He\u2019s been everything.\u201d (Jeff Zrebiec<\/a>)<\/p>\n Steelers QB coach Tom Arth said that he believes the competition between third-round QB Drew Allar and QB Will Howard will bring out the best in both players.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s really good. I think it\u2019s really positive to have two young guys together,\u201d Arth said, via the team\u2019s website<\/a>. \u201cObviously, they\u2019re at a little bit different stages and different players, but two guys who are going to be very competitive with one another. They get along well. They\u2019re both great, great people \u2014 smart players \u2014 but they\u2019re ultra-competitive. They wouldn\u2019t be here if they weren\u2019t. I\u2019m very excited to see how that plays out as we get into training camp and get into the preseason, just how the two of them bring out the best in each other.\u201d<\/p>\n Arth added that QB Aaron Rodgers<\/a> and QB Mason Rudolph<\/a>, two veterans on the roster, have helped coach along both Howard and Allar.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re able to help each other, number one, first and foremost,\u201d Arth said. \u201cAaron is incredible with the entire group, especially Will and Drew as young players. But even Mason has had an incredible career. He\u2019s played almost a decade of football. That\u2019s pretty rare and pretty special, so he has some great experiences.
