You could make a strong argument that there are only three teams on the schedule for the Buffalo Bills that don\u2019t have a great shot at making a run towards the playoffs. Those three teams are the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins<\/a>, and Las Vegas Raiders. All three of those teams have one thing in common, and it\u2019s that they don\u2019t have great quarterback play going into this season.<\/p>\n

Maybe you could make a case for the Minnesota Vikings, in which Kyler Murray should be the starter. However, we all know how great Kevin O\u2019Connell is with quarterbacks, and the rest of the Vikings\u2019 roster is extremely talented.<\/p>\n

So if you take out those three teams (New York, Miami, and Las Vegas), that leaves 11 other teams that the Bills will face that have a great chance at making a run to and in the playoffs. To put it all together, the Bills\u2019 schedule won\u2019t be easy at all as they will face some of the best competition that you can.<\/p>\n

Two of those teams that are part of the 11 are the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos, both who have rising third-year quarterbacks in Caleb Williams and Bo Nix. Williams was beyond phenomenal in his first year with Ben Johnson, and Nix helped bring the Broncos all the way to the AFC Championship game past the Bills.<\/p>\n

Even though both of these quarterbacks are ascending and will get their chance at the Bills, Garrett Podell from CBS Sports<\/a> has them on a list that no quarterbacks want to be apart of.<\/p>\n

Bo Nix and Caleb Williams land on QB list that Bills fans will find interesting<\/p>\n

Podell created a list of the \u201cmost overrated and underrated quarterbacks\u201d heading into this season and both Williams and Nix find themselves in the overrated category, which might be a little surprising for Bills fans.<\/p>\n

Podell about Caleb Williams:<\/p>\n

“The reason Chicago fell behind in both of their 2025 playoff games and lost in overtime to the Rams is because of Williams’ inefficiency. He morphed into a turnover machine in the postseason, throwing two interceptions while completing just 24 of his 48 passes (50%) in the win against the Packers before throwing three more interceptions on 23 of 42 passing (54.8%) against Los Angeles.” said Podell.<\/p>\n

“That extreme level of inefficiency in the postseason wasn’t an outlier. He led the NFL in 2025 with 12 games possessing a completion percentage of 60% or lower, and no other quarterback registered a double-digit number of games in that category. Cam Ward<\/a>\u00a0was the closest with eight such games.” Podell added.<\/p>\n

Podell about Bo Nix:<\/p>\n

“Bo Nix\u00a0is an incredibly unique quarterback. He led the NFL with 612 passing attempts in 2025, but he failed to crack 4,000 yards passing, thanks to an average of 6.4 yards per attempt that ranked 28th among 33 qualified quarterbacks.” said Podell.<\/p>\n

“Three of the top four teams with the most punts in the 2025 regular season — the\u00a0Browns<\/a>\u00a0(93),\u00a0Titans<\/a>\u00a0(78) and\u00a0Raiders<\/a>\u00a0(74) — missed the playoffs and\u00a0fired their respective head coaches<\/a>. The fourth team in that group is Nix’s Broncos, with 75 punts. He benefits from a strong offensive line and a strong defense.” Podell added.<\/p>\n

Numbers don\u2019t lie at all, and it\u2019s very surprising to see both Williams and Nix have these attached to them. For as great as they showed to be, they both have their faults and it gives the Bills some great insights about each of them going into their matchups.<\/p>\n

Now granted, the Bills don\u2019t play them both until December in back-to-back weeks, but these numbers show what Buffalo\u2019s defense should be looking to do when preparing for them. While Williams and Nix have the potential to be some of the best quarterbacks moving forward, they have a lot to clean up in their game as well. Let\u2019s just hope that they don\u2019t play like MVP candidates when they take on the Bills.<\/p>\n
