Before even getting drafted by the Los Angeles Rams<\/a>, tight end Terrance Ferguson was familiar with Sean McVay\u2019s offense. That\u2019s because at Oregon, the Ducks watched a lot of the Rams\u2019 offense, taking elements and plays from McVay\u2019s scheme.<\/p>\n

Ferguson mentioned his surface-level knowledge of the Rams\u2019 system after being drafted<\/a> but he\u2019s diving in even more now that he\u2019s on the team \u2013\u00a0and he loves what he\u2019s seen so far.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe watched a lot of the Rams offense at Oregon,\u201d he said recently. \u201cTook some plays and some ideas from Coach McVay and this offense so being able to watch it beforehand and also get into it. Obviously, it\u2019s very complex. It\u2019s a great offense to be in. I\u2019ve seen a little bit of it. High expectations and it\u2019s exceeded that, so it\u2019s been amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Players often rave about their experience playing for McVay, who\u2019s one of the brightest minds in the game. Ferguson has already enjoyed his time learning from the Rams\u2019 coach despite it only being May.<\/p>\n

He talked about what it\u2019s been like so far, calling it a \u201cdream come true\u201d to play for McVay. Ferguson also mentioned the way McVay has coached him up in OTAs, pointing out areas of improvement for the rookie tight end.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been amazing with Coach McVay,\u201d Ferguson said. \u201cHe\u2019s really poured into me, leaned into me out there with just little subtle things I can change and get better at. He has a lot of love for me and I appreciate that and just being able to talk with him and being able to play for someone like him is a dream come true. It\u2019s been an amazing experience so far.\u201d<\/p>\n

With the way McVay schemes players open and draws up plays, Ferguson is going to get plenty of one-on-one matchups early on. That should be exciting for the rookie out of Oregon, especially considering the record-setting numbers<\/a> he put up for the Ducks.<\/p>\n
