Despite facing a crowded depth chart, Allgeier views the competition not as a setback, but as a challenge to execute whenever his number is called.<\/p>\n
Allgeier signed a two-year, $12.25 million contract<\/a> with the Cardinals back in March. The running back\u2019s team-first attitude was put to the test when the front office added more talent to the roster by selecting Jeremiyah Love<\/a> in the NFL Draft. <\/p>\n However, head coach Mike LaFleur made sure to personally reach out and communicate his vision after the draft, ensuring Allgeier knew he remained a vital part of the team\u2019s offensive plans.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen they drafted him, it was very exciting, and Coach LaFleur ended up calling me,\u201d Allgeier said, reflecting on the reassurance. \u201cIt was good. It was not like, \u2018Oh, we are going to bench you.\u2019 It was a really good conversation because he did not have to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n While a crowded backfield often raises questions about how touches will be distributed, the players themselves welcome the extra help.
