This week the Eagles made Jalen Carter the highest-paid defensive lineman in NFL history. His new deal, details not yet fully known, will be enormous, the latest insanity.<\/p>\n
But we do know that it includes a guaranteed $106 million, more money to play five months of football rather than, oh, funding treatment of victims and surviving families of reckless driving.<\/p>\n
And yet, based on recent history \u2014 at 25, the only history Carter owns \u2014 I seriously doubt, no matter how much end-zone messaging Roger Goodell\u2019s NFL blames us for antisocial behavior, that any right-minded, law-abiding citizen would allow Carter into their home.<\/p>\n
