That was the case Friday for the San Francisco 49ers, as running back Christian McCaffrey<a class=\"maisdio-link\" href=\"#\" data-sport=\"nfl\" data-athlete=\"18877\" data-name=\"Christian McCaffrey\" data-track-content=\"\" data-content-name=\"mai-sportsdataio-link\" data-content-piece=\"Christian McCaffrey\"><\/a> and linebacker Dre Greenlaw<a class=\"maisdio-link\" href=\"#\" data-sport=\"nfl\" data-athlete=\"20778\" data-name=\"Dre Greenlaw\" data-track-content=\"\" data-content-name=\"mai-sportsdataio-link\" data-content-piece=\"Dre Greenlaw\"><\/a> reportedly had a heated interaction during the team\u2019s first padded practice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">David Lombardi of The San Francisco Standard reported that \u201cGreenlaw shoved McCaffrey to the ground after a catch,\u201d which the running back understandably did not like. Lombardi added that \u201cCMC got up and shoved Greenlaw, who then restrained himself and backed off.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the 49ers, it\u2019s great to see that the two stars are taking things seriously at training camp, to the point where they almost fought each other.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">McCaffrey later addressed the skirmish, assuring 49ers fans that nothing personal fueled the aggression in practice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cReal quick, Dre is my favorite football player in the NFL,\u201d McCaffrey <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KNBR\/status\/2083313174833709422\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">told KNBR\u2019s Greg Silver and John Dickinson<\/a>. \u201cHe has been for a long time, and it\u2019s because of stuff like that. Camp is so fun man \u2026 We get to play a little kids game for a living. The same way you fight with your brothers as kids \u2026 Sometimes you get into scuffles with your teammates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As for Greenlaw, this is probably the type of intensity he is just looking for in his return to San Francisco.
