Miami Dolphins president Tom Garfinkel steps down after 13 years<\/p>\n

The Miami Dolphins announced on Tuesday, Aug. 4, that Tom Garfinkel will relinquish his role as the team’s president and chief executive officer.<\/p>\n

Garfinkel was the Dolphins’ president and CEO for 13 years.<\/p>\n

The team said Garfinkel will remain part of the organization as vice chairman of the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium and managing partner of the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix auto race.<\/p>\n

“I love the Dolphins and the people here, but after 13 years it was just the right time for me to make this decision,” Garfinkel said in a statement. “The business has never been in a better place and the team of people we have here is second to none in sports. I want to thank the South Florida community and Dolphins fans for all of their support over the years and especially Steve Ross for the opportunity to be a part of this great organization. He is a visionary leader and a team owner who always strives to be best-in-class, and he provides his people all the trust and resources needed to be successful. I have every confidence in where this organization is headed on and off the field under Danny’s leadership, and I’m excited about the new challenges that will come moving forward.”<\/p>\n

The Dolphins said that team Chairman and Owner Stephen M. Ross named Daniel Sillman as Chief Executive Officer of Ross Sports & Entertainment.<\/p>\n

Ross also announced that Ross Sports & Entertainment will bring the Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami Grand Prix, the Miami Open tennis tournament and the Precision Drive Club into one entity.<\/p>\n

The Dolphins said Sillman will oversee the organization’s existing executive leadership team.<\/p>\n
