The Bills closed out this part of training camp at St. John Fisher University outside Rochester and packed up for home base back in Buffalo. Now it\u2019s back home to Orchard Park to open their new stadium and continue preparing for the regular season, but first they locked down one of their top offensive linemen for the long term.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Starting right guard O\u2019Cyrus Torrence and the Bills have agreed to a contract extension, reportedly a four-year deal. Torrence has played in every game since they drafted him in the second round in 2023 and has been a key part of a group that protects Josh Allen and leads the way for running back James Cook.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“He deserves every penny,” said Allen. “He\u2019s been so steady for us the last few years. He\u2019s going to continue to get better. He\u2019s the ultimate teammate. He works extremely hard.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“He went through a season without no sacks, and then he went through another season with 100% reps, so Cybo deserves everything that he got, probably plus some,” said left tackle Dion Dawkins.<\/p>\n
“He\u2019s been a guy, the number one thing we want to do is we want to be strong up front; we talk about that,” said Bills General Manager Brandon Beane. “We want to protect No. 17. That\u2019s where it starts. We\u2019ve tried to keep a stable group and I think that\u2019s helped our offense be as successful as it has.”<\/p>\n
An offense, and now an entire team, led by first-year head coach Joe Brady, who\u2019s putting his stamp on this group through seven practices of camp.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I like where the guys are at, the personality that they\u2019re playing with, the volume that we\u2019re putting on their plates and how they\u2019re handling it,” said Brady. “I\u2019m pleased with where we\u2019re at right now, but every day is a challenge, right?”<\/p>\n
“This group from offense to defense is the tightest group that I\u2019ve been around really since I\u2019ve entered the league,” Allen said. “That\u2019s one of the things you do when you come to camp is build that team camaraderie.”<\/p>\n
