The impressive edge rusher and second overall draft pick suffered what appeared to be a mild ankle injury late in Saturday\u2019s intrasquad scrimmage. <\/p>\n
It came at the tail end of yet another strong practice from Bailey, who had two would-have-been sacks and was frequently in the offensive backfield.<\/p>\n
He gave starting left tackle Olu Fashanu fits.<\/p>\n
It was unclear how Bailey hurt the ankle. <\/p>\n
After coming off the field, he received medical attention and was moving around on the sideline.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say day to day, but let me make sure because \u2026 he got up and I think he jogged off,\u201d coach Aaron Glenn said. \u201cSo, I would think it would be that.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Jets are hoping Bailey can elevate a pass rush that was 31st in the league a year ago with 26 sacks.<\/p>\n
Last year at Texas Tech, he had 14.5 sacks.<\/p>\n
Nobody was happier to see the Jets add veteran safety Minkah Fitzpatrick in the offseason than Malachi Moore. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The second-year safety grew up idolizing Fitzpatrick as a Trussville, Ala., native and Alabama football fan.<\/p>\n
Moore, a fourth-round pick one season ago, attended Alabama too.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor him to be on the team now is crazy,\u201d he said. \u201cLooking up to him coming out of high school, going to Alabama, he\u2019s all over the walls up there and everything.<\/p>\n

\u201cI told him this funny story: When I first got to college, my first couple of days there, coach [Nick] Saban was calling me Minkah in film. I\u2019m like, \u2018Coach, it\u2019s Malachi.\u2019 In the back of my head, I\u2019m thinking, if you\u2019re going to mess my name up, call me anybody, Minkah is pretty cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
It was another productive practice for return specialist\/receiver Isaiah Williams. <\/p>\n
He caught a 36-yard touchdown pass from Geno Smith on a deflection and made four other receptions during the controlled scrimmage.<\/p>\n
