Although there has been positive injury news for Charbonnet<\/a>, it makes little sense to rush him back and take up a roster spot on an already difficult roster to cut down. Price, Holani, and Wilson seem to be locks to make this roster. Jones is an intriguing name to watch considering his flexibility to play wide receiver and in the return game. He and Wright should hopefully be able to survive the waiver wire and make it back to the practice squad.<\/p>\nKeep: Robbie Ouzts, Brady Russell<\/p>\n
Ouzts\u2019 injury is a tough one. If he is out for much longer, he may enter the roster bubble territory \u2013 if he isn\u2019t already there. Until there\u2019s more clarity on his injury, he is a keep for now considering offensive coordinator Brian Fleury\u2019s use of the position.<\/p>\n
Keep: AJ Barner, Elijah Arroyo, Eric Saubert, Nick Kallerup<\/p>\n
Speaking of Brian Fleury, he also loves the tight end position. The issue is, he isn\u2019t alone in his love of the position. This era of the NFL is all about heavy personnel sets. This is why this projection has Seattle keeping four tight ends in addition to the two fullbacks. It seems too risky for the Seahawks to let go of a Saubert or Kallerup \u2013 two solid blocking tight ends.<\/p>\n
Keep: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, Rashid Shaheed, Tory Horton, Jake Bobo, Emmanuel Henderson<\/p>\n
Cut: Montorie Foster Jr., Ricky White III, Irv Charles, Cody White, Rashad Rochelle<\/p>\n
JSN, Kupp, Shaheed, Horton, Bobo are virtual locks. The question then becomes whether Seattle keeps any more receivers on top of those five. With Seattle going heavy at the FB\/TE position, it could mean that they go light at WR. However, word out of camp is that the likes of Montorie Foster Jr. and Ricky White III are making that a difficult decision. There are legitimate arguments to keep most of the receivers on this roster. The question really becomes special teams\u2019 ability and likelihood of losing these receivers on waivers. With those two considerations, I am keeping 6th round pick, Emmanuel Henderson Jr. His speed and return ability make it a risky proposition to cut him. If Irv Charles shows his gunner ability in the preseason, he could also make a push for this last spot as well. Overall, receiver is one of the tougher positions to project.<\/p>\n

Cut: Amari Kight, Bryce Cabeldue, Olu Oluwatimi (Trade Candidate), Federico Maranges, Christian Haynes (Trade Candidate), Bobby Hart<\/p>\n
The Seahawks have some legitimate depth on this offensive line. That makes it even harder to project who makes the roster and who doesn\u2019t. Oluwatimi and Haynes could be trade targets (similar to Mike Jarrell last season). The decision to keep Richman over Oluwatimi as backup center here is not necessarily because Richman is better, but rather due to club control. Oluwatimi is entering the last season on his rookie deal while Richman still has three years left on his deal. Cabeldue was a tough cut as well, one who hopefully survives waivers. Keeping Logan Brown gives Seattle a young tackle option \u2013 it will be interesting to see the battle between him and Amari Kight to see if either can make the 53-man roster. However, if Oluwatimi doesn\u2019t end up being traded, they may not keep Kight or Brown. In that case, Oluwatimi and Richman would both make the roster, knowing that Richman can play tackle in a pinch.<\/p>\n
Keep: Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy II, Jarran Reed, Rylie Mills, Brandon Pili<\/p>\n
Cut: Mike Morris, Deven Eastern, JR Singleton, Uso Seumalo, Bubba Thomas<\/p>\n
The conversation here is whether some of the back of the roster players like Morris and Eastern can do enough to justify keeping them on the 53-man roster. The other question is whether Seattle thinks they can survive waivers. Similar to Oluwatimi, Morris is entering his final year of his rookie deal which is what makes it more palatable to waive him. I project to keep Pili here as well despite the thought process that a veteran like him can sneak past waivers. The risk of losing Pili is too great to take since he is one of the only true nose tackles that Seattle has on their roster. If Eastern can push him for a roster spot, then Pili could be on the outs as well.<\/p>\n
Keep: Demarcus Lawrence, Derick Hall, Uchenna Nwosu, Dante Fowler Jr.<\/p>\n
Cut: Connor O\u2019Toole, Jared Ivey, Jamie Sherriff, Jalen Gaines, Aidan Hubbard, Marvin Jones Jr.<\/p>\n
Cutting O\u2019Toole and Ivey is a tough decision here. Seattle would surely pray they can make it past waivers. The same argument can be had for Sherriff, although he likely has a better shot considering he has done so in the past. As will be discussed below, the larger number of defensive backs kept make it difficult to keep a fifth edge. The potential for Nick Emmanwori (and potentially Tyrice Knight) to play the edge also allows the Seahawks some more flexibility.<\/p>\n

Cut: Chaz Surratt, Patrick O\u2019Connell, Chris Paul<\/p>\n
Like outside linebacker, staying heavy at defensive back makes other positions thinner. O\u2019Connell has survived waivers before; Seattle likely hopes that remains the case in 2026. Paul was a waiver claim by Seattle after the Los Angeles Rams cut him last offseason. That makes letting go of him a potential risk. Surratt is an interesting bottom of the roster discussion as well considering his impact on special teams.<\/p>\n

Cut: Rodney Thomas II, Andre Fuller, AJ Finley, Maxen Hook, Shemar Jean-Charles, Jordan Washington<\/p>\n
I decided to place all the defensive backs in one group because of how positionless this group can play. The real question in this group are whether certain veterans like D\u2019Anthony Bell, Rodney Thomas II, and Noah Igbinoghene could survive waivers. Considering Emmanwori\u2019s current injury and the fact that Bell has been his replacement as nickel, Bell makes the roster in this projection. Waiving Thomas is a risk, however Seattle will still have five players who can play safety (Love, Okada, Clark, Emmanwori, and Bell).<\/p>\n
At cornerback, both 7th round rookies (Fuller and Dansby) have impressed. This makes this position very tough to project. Witherspoon, Jobe, and Neal are certain locks. The way Pritchett has looked in camp likely makes him a lock as well. The question really becomes whether the rookies have impressed enough for Seattle to feel comfortable putting a veteran like Igbinoghene on waivers. In this projection I don\u2019t have that happening just yet. Dansby makes it over Fuller due to his freakish athleticism. Entering the draft process Dansby was unable to workout at all causing him to be a big question mark. However, that question mark seems to be going away with the way he has looked in camp (including his ability to cause turnovers). This makes me worry that he would be lost on waivers more so than Fuller.<\/p>\n
Keep: Jason Myers (K), Michael Dickson (P), Chris Stoll (LS)<\/p>\n
There is not much to discuss here.<\/p>\n
Overall, this projection has Seattle keeping 27 on offense, 23 on defense, along with the three specialists. With the myriad versatility on defense, this makes it easier to go slimmer on that side of the ball. This projection does not necessarily list the best 53 players on the team. A lot of that has to do with gambling on which players will or will not be claimed on waivers. That game (along with club control considerations) tend to skew the projection younger. Players such as Olu Oluwatimi and Mike Morris may end up getting the short end of the stick because of this.
