{"id":97085,"date":"2025-06-02T02:26:12","date_gmt":"2025-06-02T02:26:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/97085\/"},"modified":"2025-06-02T02:26:12","modified_gmt":"2025-06-02T02:26:12","slug":"badgers-news-wisconsin-beats-oklahoma-for-coveted-in-state-linebacker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/97085\/","title":{"rendered":"Badgers news: Wisconsin beats Oklahoma for coveted in-state linebacker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"PDrb1u\">The Wisconsin Badgers have land a commitment from 2026 three-star linebacker Ben Wenzel, he announced on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p id=\"Uv2pUD\">Wenzel is the second commitment for the day, joining three-star defensive lineman Arthur Scott, and is also the second of this official visit cycle for the Badgers.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yUUUOz\">An in-state player from Appleton, Wisconsin, Wenzel was a late offer for the Badgers, getting his just two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p id=\"RXoEyP\">Nonetheless, it evidently meant quite a bit to the three-star, as Wisconsin beat out Oklahoma for the linebacker in what essentially was a two-team battle.<\/p>\n<p id=\"5QRAXg\">He becomes the second linebacker to commit and the ninth player to verbally pledge for the Badgers in the 2026 class, and there\u2019s more to come from a busy weekend.<\/p>\n<p id=\"blGRZr\">Wisconsin started off slower in this recruiting class, but they\u2019re off to a fast start with two top targets to kick off official visits, and are making up ground coming out for the weekend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Wisconsin Badgers have land a commitment from 2026 three-star linebacker Ben Wenzel, he announced on Sunday.
