The Baltimore Ravens held the last practice ahead of Saturday’s preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n

Thursday’s no-pads practice made for a great opportunity for so many young players to get their first taste of the NFL. It was a fast-paced workout lasting an hour and 45 minutes that was basically split up between the first-teamers still working on installation and execution and the second half focused on preparing the guys who will play on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The play-calling on offense will not involve anything the Ravens will run in the regular season, and defensively, the packages will have one flavor: Vanilla.<\/p>\n

The way to stand out really comes down to the essence of football \u2014 beat the man in front of you. If these youngsters showcase show that ability, they’ll earn a chance to stick in Baltimore or somewhere else. And, so much of that comes down to the attitude with which Saturday is approached.<\/p>\n

“Run towards the opportunity. Just run towards your opportunity. Do not be the guys sitting around wondering how many reps you are going to get. When your number is called, run to the opportunity and take advantage of it,” head coach Jesse Minter said.<\/p>\n

For the Ravens rookies who are locks to make the team, we can still expect to see them on the field for at least a little bit. The likes of Vega Ioane, Zion Young and Ja’Kobi Lane will at least get their feet wet in front of the home crowd.<\/p>\n

INJURY UPDATES: Nate Wiggins and Marlon Humphrey<\/a> could return to activities as early as next week.<\/p>\n
