As he often does, Hunter \u2013 the No. 2 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft \u2013 quickly made an impact.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now, I&#8217;m back,&#8221; Hunter said.<\/p>\n<p>The Jaguars practiced for nearly two hours at the <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break:break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jaguars.com\/millerelectriccenter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Miller Electric Center<\/a> on Day 14 of <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break:break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jaguars.com\/trainingcamp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">2026 Training Camp<\/a> on Monday, with Hunter playing mostly defense. He took wide receiver reps during 7-on-7 drills but worked exclusively at corner during team drills \u2013 making plays in the process.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We just wanted to get him the 7-on-7 work and just really hone in on a little bit more corner,&#8221; <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break:break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jaguars.com\/team\/coaches-roster\/liam-coen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jaguars Head Coach Liam Coen<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter called the approach &#8220;definitely beneficial.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I needed to knock the rust off,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I&#8217;ve got to get better somehow, somewhere. I definitely took my time to hone in on one today and that was defense. Get better, get my feet up under me. Can&#8217;t let anybody catch the ball, so that&#8217;s my motto right now, just continue to focus and get better.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hunter on Monday matched up several times against the Jaguars&#8217; top receivers, such as <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break:break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jaguars.com\/team\/players-roster\/brian-thomas-jr\/\" title=\"Brian Thomas Jr.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brian Thomas Jr.<\/a> and <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break:break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jaguars.com\/team\/players-roster\/jakobi-meyers\/\" title=\"Jakobi Meyers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jakobi Meyers<\/a>. He made a play on the ball toward the end of practice, recording a physical and athletic pass breakup against rookie wide receiver <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break:break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jaguars.com\/team\/players-roster\/cj-williams\/\" title=\"CJ Williams\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CJ Williams<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Made a good play on the out cut over there,&#8221; Coen said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"JACKSONVILLE \u2013 Travis Hunter wears many hats for the Jaguars.
