Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales announced Wednesday that the team\u2019s starters will not play in Friday\u2019s preseason finale.<\/p>\n
The decision follows a joint practice with the Houston Texans where Carolina\u2019s offense struggled against heavy defensive pressure.<\/p>\n
During the 11-on-11 portion of Wednesday\u2019s practice, Houston\u2019s defense repeatedly penetrated the backfield. The pressure resulted in several turnovers from Panthers quarterback Bryce Young.<\/p>\n
Carolina Panthers head coach Canales acknowledged the offensive line and Young struggled against Houston\u2019s front. Canales said the session was lopsided, but added that his team got exactly what it needed from the work.<\/p>\n
While the offense faced difficulties, the Panthers defense delivered a solid performance throughout the session.<\/p>\n
