DENVER<\/a> \u2014 Denver Broncos<\/a>\u2018 head coach Sean Payton<\/a> always has Bo Nix<\/a>\u2018s back.<\/p>\n

That was on full display for the world to see Thursday morning at 11:15 a.m. after Fox Sports analyst Geoff Schwartz<\/a> gave his opinion on Nix.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do think he just is what he is at this point. He looks like the same quarterback he was in college,\u201d Schwartz said on Fox Sports, which circulated on X<\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s consistent. He\u2019s not gonna make mistakes. But he\u2019s not gonna push the ball down the field all that often.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nix\u2019s head coach clearly disagreed, responding on Thursday morning by taking a simple dig at Schwartz, saying, \u201cAlways easy to tell who works at it and who doesn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the Broncos\u2019 34-6 preseason beatdown<\/a> of the Minnesota Vikings<\/a>, Payton expanded on his original Tweet.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was crazy wasn\u2019t it? I can\u2019t help myself though. When I see something like that, I\u2019m sorry. It\u2019s just, I have a pause and then it\u2019s like, \u2018What are you watching?\u2019 Just watch the tape,\u201d Payton said in his postgame press conference. \u201cHere\u2019s the thing though. I think\u2014and this is for any player\u2014sometimes when you\u2019re on the East Coast, you don\u2019t see, whatever, but when you get to see\u2026 I remember the first time I ever saw a [former NFL<\/a> WR] Percy Harvin or [former NFL RB] Adrian Peterson<\/a>, it was completely different than\u2026 So to see someone live and to actually watch them is\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGetting back to your question relative to\u2026 They\u2019re just,\u201d Payton said, redirecting himself back to Schwartz\u2019 comments. \u201cYou guys grind at it, but now you have so many variations. You\u2019ve got the basement podcast with the beer logo and I just couldn\u2019t help myself with that one. It was silly. Everything was the opposite of what he was saying and the worst part was he played at Oregon<\/a>. I don\u2019t even know the player, so.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the community note on the Tweet states, Nix is the opposite of what Schwartz said. In his first two years in the NFL, no quarterback has thrown more touchdown passes that went 20-plus yards in the air.<\/p>\n

As Payton pointed out, Schwartz played his college ball at Nix\u2019s alma mater. Unlike Nix, Schwartz was a 7th-round pick in 2008 and bounced around five different teams in his eight year career. He played in 74 NFL games with 39 starts.<\/p>\n
