The Jaguars acquired QB Quinn Ewers<\/a> from the Dolphins coming out of the preseason. Jacksonville GM James Gladstone said they were exploring \u201ca couple of different options\u201d before bringing in Ewers: \u201cWe were exploring a couple of different options. Saturday morning was first time we engaged in conversations with Dolphins.\u201d\u00a0(Ryan O\u2019Halloran<\/a>)
\nJaguars WR Parker Washington<\/a> is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Gladstone said they are \u201cfine\u201d with talking to Washington\u2019s camp during the regular season about a possible extension, per O\u2019Halloran.\u00a0<\/a>
\nGladstone said he\u2019s confident that RG Patrick Mekari<\/a> (back surgery) will be an option to be activated from injured reserve in Week 4, per O\u2019Halloran<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Texans WR Tank Dell<\/a> (knee) is set to start the season on injured reserve. Houston GM Nick Caserio said the receiver is getting closer to returning and they\u2019ll have a better idea of his availability following Week 4: \u201cHe is close. He is not quite there, which is why he\u2019s in the category that he\u2019s in. I think we\u2019ll have a better idea with a lot of these guys after four weeks, four games, whatever it is. I\u2019d say he\u2019s definitely closer now than he was let\u2019s say in Training Camp. There\u2019s a little bit more work that remains. But overall, he\u2019s in pretty good spirits. There are certain things we just have to see. \nThe Texans wound up keeping undrafted DE Sabastian Harsh on their active roster. Houston HC DeMeco Ryans<\/a> said Harsh earned a spot on the team, praising his motor, strength, and playmaking ability: \u201cEarned his way onto the team, found way to make plays. You see a guy with the motor he has, strength he has, playmaking he has, the talent he has, we\u2019re not going to let a guy like that get away.\u201d\u00a0(Aaron Wilson<\/a>)
\nAs for fellow undrafted CB Collin Wright, Ryan said he has proven to be consistent and attack the football: \u201cVery consistent, never shied away, found a way to make a play on the football. They earned the right to be on the team. Both guys can help us win football games.\u201d\u00a0(Wilson)
\nThe Texans recently acquired WR Kayshon Boutte<\/a> from the Patriots. When asked about New England HC Mike Vrabel<\/a>\u2018s comments that Boutte would\u2019ve been inactive with the Patriots, Boutte said he doesn\u2019t take offense to it and isn\u2019t viewing it as \u201cmotivation\u201d going into Week 1, per Wilson<\/a>.\u00a0
