Tua Tagovailoa\u2019s wife, Annah, shut down a narrative that the Falcons quarterback has a burner account <\/a>after he appeared to leave a positive comment under one of his own posts on Instagram.<\/p>\n

Annah explained that she left the comment \u2014 which read \u201cWe\u2019re so proud of you!! You got this \u2764\ufe0f.\u201d \u2014 under a snapshot of the quarterback in his new Falcons uniform that was posted on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

\u201cNo burner account!\u201d Annah wrote under the post. \u201cI was busy with the kids this morning and forgot to switch back to my account.. He\u2019s busy at work as he\u2019s said he doesn\u2019t have social media and I post on his behalf! Will pay more attention next time \ud83e\udd26\ud83c\udffd\u200d\u2640\ufe0f.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her comment is pinned under Tua\u2019s post, which was captioned, \u201cFor the A \ud83e\udee1.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tagovailoa signed a one-year, $1.3 million contract with the Falcons following his release from the Miami Dolphins in March. <\/p>\n

He completed seven of eight passes for 95 yards and lost a fumbled snap in Atlanta\u2019s 17-12 win over his old team in the preseason finale in Miami on Friday.<\/p>\n

The Falcons have not yet named a starter for Week 1 on the road against the Steelers on Sept.13.<\/p>\n

Atlanta kept four quarterbacks on its initial 53-man roster \u2014 the top two being Tua and Michael Penix Jr., as well as\u00a0veteran Cooper Rush\u00a0and undrafted rookie\u00a0Jack Strand.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Falcons signed Rush at the start of training camp in July, when Tagovailoa was dealing with lower back tightness.<\/p>\n

Penix, who did not play in a preseason game, is recovering from a left knee injury that ended his 2025 season.<\/p>\n

Falcons first-year general manager\u00a0Ian Cunningham\u00a0said Wednesday<\/a> that they have not identified a starter for Week 1.<\/p>\n

Cunningham did not rule out whether Penix would be ready for Week 1. <\/p>\n

\u201cI never went into it thinking he was or wasn\u2019t going to be ready.. Things happen,\u201d he said. For him to be where he\u2019s at, it shows because he\u2019s been working his tail off to get to this point. And our staff putting a really good plan together for him to get to the point of 11-on-11 where we\u2019re having these conversations where \u2014 who\u2019s going to be the starting quarterback, and is he going to be ready \u2014 it goes to show you he\u2019s put himself in that position because of the work that he\u2019s put in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cunningham was asked if it\u2019s possible that all four are in the running to start in Week 1. <\/p>\n
