Another former Raven is set to retire, as Ronald Darby informed the Houston Texans<\/a> that he’ll be walking away from the game after ten NFL seasons. Darby played college football for the Florida State Seminoles<\/a> and was selected by the Buffalo Bills<\/a> in the second round of the 2015 NFL draft.<\/p>\n

Darby, who the Jaguars<\/a> released in March, had signed with the Texans<\/a> and was coming off an overall productive season after signing a two-year, $10 million contract last March. He started 12 games and collected 46 tackles, three tackles for loss, and nine pass breakups.<\/p>\n

Over his 10 NFL seasons, Darby started 107 games, logging eight interceptions, 106 pass breakups, and 447 total tackles during stints with Buffalo, Philadelphia, Washington, Denver, and Baltimore before joining Jacksonville.<\/p>\n

Darby started at cornerback for Philadelphia in Super Bowl LII and had four solo tackles and two pass deflections as the Eagles<\/a> defeated the New England Patriots<\/a> 41\u201333. After leaving Philadelphia, Darby signed a one-year, $4 million prove-it deal to play for his hometown team.<\/p>\n

During his tenure with Baltimore, the veteran cornerback performed admirably for the Ravens<\/a> while filling in for an injured Marlon Humphrey at various points throughout the season after signing with the team in August.<\/p>\n

Darby finished the 2023 season with 28 combined tackles (24 solo) and seven pass deflections in 16 games and seven starts, receiving an overall grade of 81.0 from Pro Football Focus.<\/p>\n
