Longtime NFL veteran, Super Bowl champion and former Nittany Lion Matt Suhey died on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Suhey died in his sleep Saturday night at 68-years-old, according to the Chicago Tribune.<\/p>\n

The former Penn Stater was selected by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 1980 NFL Draft. He appeared in 148 games for the Bears, playing a big role in the team’s 1985 Super Bowl title.<\/p>\n

Suhey scored the team’s first touchdown in the championship against the New England Patriots. During his 10-year career, he rushed for 2,946 yards and recorded 20 rushing touchdowns.<\/p>\n

With the Nittany Lions, Suhey recorded 2,818 yards on the ground and 26 rushing touchdowns from 1976 to 1980.<\/p>\n
