That is the most encouraging update Baltimore could receive as it prepares to begin a new era under head coach Jesse Minter and offensive coordinator Declan Doyle. Jackson\u2019s availability is central to everything the Ravens want to accomplish offensively. His ability to threaten defenses with his arm and legs creates opportunities for Derrick Henry in the running game and favorable matchups for Baltimore\u2019s receivers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The two-time NFL MVP has spent the offseason learning his fourth offensive system as he enters his ninth season. Jackson has praised Doyle\u2019s creativity and described the offense as a \u201cbreath of fresh air.\u201d He also believes its movement and versatility should result in a high success rate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Executing that vision requires a healthy quarterback.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Jackson\u2019s mobility allows him to escape pressure, extend plays and punish defenses that lose discipline. It will be especially important against an Indianapolis front featuring DeForest Buckner, Laiatu Latu, Arden Key and Adetomiwa Adebawore. Baltimore will also have a first-time starter at center, with Jovaughn Gwyn taking over in the middle of the offensive line. Jackson\u2019s awareness and ability to create outside the structure of a play can help the Ravens overcome any early protection issues. The Ravens do not need Jackson to absorb unnecessary contact or rely exclusively on his rushing ability.
