But while many of the newcomers are expected to steal the show in Week 1 when Cleveland takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars, second-year tight end Harold Fannin Jr. cannot be ignored. <\/p>\n
The 22-year-old standout is coming off an impressive rookie season with the Browns, posting 72 receptions, 731 yards and six touchdowns. Just two rounds later, the front office took BYU’s Carsen Ryan with the No. 248 pick in the seventh round. Ryan currently sits third on the depth chart. <\/a><\/p>\n While the team’s seventh-rounder may end up getting a bit more time on the gridiron as the year continues to tick along, he will have to jump Cleveland’s other rostered tight end: Blake Whiteheart. <\/p>\n The 26-year-old Whiteheart hasn’t really established himself as much of an offensive threat, but he does know Cleveland’s system incredibly well. He has been with the organization since 2024, playing in 28 games across the last two seasons. <\/p>\n Both Ryan and Royer, when he returns, will have to work their way up the coaching staff’s ladder. <\/p>\n That still means, though, that the room belongs to Fannin Jr. … and so do the targets.<\/p>\n With rookie wideouts Denzel Boston and Concepcion still being somewhat unknown, and more experienced wideouts Jerry Jeudy and Isaiah Bond still needing to become more consistent, Fannin Jr. stands out as the clear No. 1 option. <\/p>\n He showcased all last year that he can be relied upon. <\/p>\n Fannin Jr. also has a chance to become Deshaun Watson’s favorite target. The two have not played together in a regular-season contest yet, but Fannin Jr. shared that the two have built strong chemistry during the offseason. <\/p>\n Watson beat out second-year pro Shedeur Sanders for the starting quarterback job. <\/p>\n “It’s been really nice,”\u00a0Fannin was quoted as saying in an article by USA Today.<\/a>\u00a0“It’s crazy to think about because I used to actually watch him on TV when I was younger, and now we are here… [we are] just getting reps and talking through things, seeing how he sees things and how he wants me to adjust.”<\/p>\n![\"Cleveland](\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/01m29e23mjsyw0v5mhww.jpg\" "\\"Cleveland")
