COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have secured defenseman Dante Fabbro with a four-year contract extension worth $16.5 million, the team announced Sunday.

“Dante was a great addition to our team last season and keeping him in Columbus was a priority,” said Don Waddell, Club President of Hockey Operations and General Manager. “He is a smart, versatile defenseman who moves the puck very well and can play in all situations. We are thrilled that he will continue to be an important part of our club moving forward.”

Fabbro, standing at 6 feet and weighing 189 pounds, achieved career highs last season in several categories, including goals, points, plus/minus rating, game-winning goals, blocked shots, and time on ice. He recorded 9 goals, 17 assists, and a +20 plus/minus rating, along with three game-winning goals, 143 blocked shots, and an average of 20:54 time on ice per game over 68 games with Columbus and Nashville in the 2024-25 season.

The 27-year-old has accumulated 25 goals and 73 assists for a total of 98 points since the 2018-19 season, playing for both the Blue Jackets and the Nashville Predators.
