Tomorrow is highly anticipated by many NHL and Montreal Canadiens fans. Of course, tomorrow marks the official opening of the NHL free agent market.

However, today is also an important day for Kent Hughes and several players as well.

As Marc-Olivier Beaudoin explains, today is the deadline for qualifying offers!

Otherwise, they will become completely free as of tomorrow – no longer part of the Montreal Canadiens organization and officially unrestricted free agents.

Well, in that regard, we officially have the first verdict.

Nicolas Cloutier of TVA Sports reports that the first qualifying offer has been submitted today, and it’s for Sean Farrell

So, he will remain with the Canadiens!

“The Montreal Canadiens will submit a qualifying offer to forward Sean Farrell, ensuring they retain the rights to their 2020 fourth-round pick.”

– TVA Sports

Sean Farrell, 23 years old, is a 5-foot-9, 175-pound forward.

He recorded 44 points in 67 games with the Laval Rocket this season, including 20 goals, and had a stellar second half.

He also added 10 points in 13 AHL playoff games.

Farrell is developing very well.
