ST LOUIS, MISSOURI (25News Now) – For the first time in 15 years, fans of the St. Louis Blues in Central Illinois will have a new way to watch their games.
Leaders with the NHL revealed a partnership between the St. Louis Blues and Gray Media affiliate First Alert 4 (KMOV-TV) and its sister station, Matrix Midwest. That partnership will bring three St. Louis Blues games to WEEK-TV’s Peoria Bloomington CW 25.3 channel.
As part of the deal, 25News will air three St. Louis Blues games on our CW channel this season:
Saturday, Feb. 22 vs. Winnipeg JetsSaturday, March 8 at Los Angeles KingsTuesday, March 25 vs. Montreal Canadiens
St. Louis Blues President and CEO of Business Operations Chris Zimmerman said Gray Media will help the Blues explore broadcasting options as the organization looks to expand its reach.
“The opportunity to deliver a package of local St. Louis Blues broadcasts through over-the-air television was a valuable addition to our latest broadcast agreement with FanDuel Sports Network that we look forward to leveraging with these games on KMOV, Matrix Midwest, and the Gray Media multi-state affiliate network,” Zimmerman said.
St. Louis Blues games have not been freely available to fans on area broadcast television since the 2008-09 season.
