After making a splash in the postseason the Carolina Hurricanes are locking up Logan Stankoven for the future. General manager Eric Tulsky announced an eight-year, $48 million contract extension with the former Dallas Star, which will begin in the 2026-27 season.

“From the moment he arrived in Raleigh, it was clear to us that Logan was a Hurricane,” said Tulsky. “We’re thrilled that he agrees, and is committed to being a big part of this organization long term.”

Carolina acquired the 22-year-old center as part of its trade-deadline deal with the Dallas Stars last season in exchange for forward Mikko Rantanen. In 78 regular-season games with the Canes and Dallas, Stankoven tallied 38 points (14 goals, 24 assists). In the postseason Stankoven added eight points (five goals, three assists).

Stankoven is tied for second-most goals in a single postseason by a rookie in franchise history.
