The Sharks add a nice veteran presence to their blue line as they look to take the next step in their rebuild.
Orlov ended up scoring 6 goals last season, along with 22 assists for 28 points in 76 games with the Carolina Hurricanes.
During the 2023 NHL trade deadline, the Boston Bruins traded for Orlov from the Washington Capitals, where he ended up thriving.
Orlov ended up going off for the Bruins, scoring four goals, 17 points in 23 regular season games, and added eight assists in seven playoff games for the Bruins.
Entering the off-season, the Bruins did not have the cap space to re-sign him, and he left to go play with the Hurricanes.
