It’s no longer a secret, the Montreal Canadiens are currently very active on the trade market.

The Montreal Canadiens Had Serious Trade Offers for Top-6 Forwards Rejected

Kent Hughes was-and still is-looking to improve his team for the upcoming season with the addition of a top-6 forward, but it seems to be proving very difficult.

Personally, I believe Zachary Bolduc can become a top-6 forward, but anyway.

As reported by DansLesCoulisses, insider Frank Seravalli stated that the Canadiens’ GM has been constantly calling other general managers, but has been turned down multiple times.

“According to Seravalli, Hughes has been on a mission for the past two or three weeks, calling general managers across the NHL.

The only problem is, the Canadiens’ GM is getting told no constantly.”

He’s definitely trying hard!

We can assume that Hughes’ offers aren’t quite up to par and likely don’t include established players or top-tier prospects.

It’s likely that other GMs are asking a lot, especially since this year’s buyers’ market is stronger than ever and few teams are in full rebuild mode.

Even if other young players in the organization like Joshua Roy are being offered, it seems that more will need to be on the table for Kent Hughes to succeed. It’s believed that one of the offers rejected involving Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens actually included Jordan Kyrou of the St. Louis Blues.Another name heavily connected to these rumors is Marco Rossi of the Minnesota Wild.
