The Utah Hockey Club is one step closer to a new nickname … possibly.

The NHL franchise that moved from Arizona has been thinking about a new nickname, and one of them was No. 2 on our list of possible names ranked: Utah Mammoth.

The other two that fans can vote on: keeping the Utah Hockey Club name or … Utah Wasatch.

But what the heck is a Wasatch? We have answers!

First of all, it’s not “a” Wasatch. It’s THE Wasatch. As in, the Wasatch Mountains, which are in Utah. Totally makes sense. It’s apparently a word in the Ute language that means “mountain pass.”

So there’s your answer!
