The NHL is investigating an incident that had occurred prior to the start of Game 3 between the Senators and Leafs, and one NHL Insider has revealed some evidence.

The Maple Leafs hold a commanding 3-0 series lead over their Atlantic Division counterparts, the Ottawa Senators, in the Battle of Ontario.

The series has not been without its fair share of controversy, however, and the latest incident occurred last night during warmups in Ottawa.

Shortly after Dreger’s report began circulating, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman stepped in and shared some damning evidence, showing Ottawa’s Nick Cousins shooting a puck at Stolarz at centre ice along the wall as Stolarz warmed up.

The NHL is not a fan of situations like these, and disciplinary action remains a real possibility in this case, given that it had occurred prior to the start of a game, where no penalty could be assessed.

Cousins is no stranger to controversy as he remains one of the most-disliked players in the National Hockey League.
