TAMPA, Fla. — Major League Baseball announced their list of All-Star reserves on Sunday, and on it were Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Jonathan Aranda and second baseman Brandon Lowe.
Aranda has had a breakout year, finding his first season of true success since making his MLB debut with the Rays in 2022.
He currently leads AL first basemen in average (.320), on-base percentage (.398), and OPS (.879).
Brandon Lowe, who will be making his second All-Star appearance, is on pace for his best overall season since 2021.
The power-hitting lefty currently has 19 home runs, a .273 batting average, and an .813 OPS.
Lowe was removed from Sunday’s contest against the Twins as a precautionary measure due to soreness, but told reporters he expects to participate in the All-Star Game.
