TAMPA, Fla. — A third Tampa Bay Rays players has been selected for the All-Star Game in Atlanta.

Third baseman Junior Caminero was announced as an injury replacement on the AL roster for Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman.

Once a top prospect for the Rays, the 22-year-old is now in the middle of his first full season with the team after a short stint in 2023 and being called up midseason in 2024.

Caminero currently has a batting average of .255, 21 home runs, 57 RBIs, and a .799 OPS.

He will join fellow teammates Jonathan Aranda and Brandon Lowe in his first trip to the Midsummer Classic.

Caminero will also participate in Monday’s Home Run Derby at Truist Park.
