Elliotte Friedman Reveals What the Canadiens Would Need to Pay to Land Jordan Kyrou

The name Jordan Kyrou is generating a lot of buzz right now around the Montreal Canadiens. The reason is simple.
We know the Blues want to trade Kyrou, we know the Canadiens want to acquire him, and we know Kyrou wants to play in Montreal.
The last question remaining is.. what’s the price?
On that subject, arguably the best insider in the entire National Hockey League, Elliotte Friedman, has just made some interesting revelations.
Jordan Kyrou was worth the 8th overall pick from the Seattle Kraken at the Draft
That gives a very good idea of what the Montreal Canadiens would need to give up to get Kyrou (something equivalent to the 8th overall pick).
Elliotte Friedman: “I do think Seattle thought about Jordan Kyrou; they ultimately decided not to do it; I don’t know this but I suspect that would have cost them the 2025 8th overall pick.”

I repeat this often, but when an insider like Elliotte Friedman makes a statement like that, it’s never said randomly or without reason.
Knowing this, it’s clear that a player like Michael Hage would be a solid starting point in the discussion, and it’s very likely that he’s one of the pieces the Blues are asking for in return for Kyrou. But is Kent Hughes ready to go that far?
Would it be a mistake to trade a young talent like Hage?
It will be really interesting to watch-especially after what Jeff Gorton just said.
