Maple Leafs Reportedly Considering Bringing Back Veteran Winger

The Maple Leafs are still very much searching for answers this summer, and according to GM Brad Treliving, one of those answers may involve bringing back a veteran winger.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have endured a significant loss this summer, with Mitch Marner heading to the Vegas Golden Knights.
Pacioretty was once a star, but is certainly in the twilight of his career. However, after embracing the role of an energy winger and secondary point producer, the veteran appears to have successfully adjusted his game and remains a useful piece.
After producing 8 points across 11 playoff games, there was some speculation that Pacioretty, 36, could contemplate retirement, or could be pondering a move closer to home in the United States. But, the latest comments from Treliving seem to indicate that not only is Pacioretty planning on continuing to play, but that he may be open to doing so in Toronto.
The fit was certainly there for Pacioretty in Toronto, but after playing just 37 games during the 2024-25 season, the hope is that if he does return, he can find a way to stay a whole lot healthier, because he is still a useful player when he’s in the lineup.
