An ex-Vancouver Canucks defenseman believes that a former first round pick who’s on the free agent market right now could be a fit for the team for next season.

When meeting with reporters recently, Patrik Allvin shared that some players didn’t have much of a desire to sign with a Canadian team this offseason, which ultimately hurt their chances of landing any big name player on the free agent market, however, there is one player to keep an eye on in the weeks ahead.

Former first round pick could be fit for Vancouver, ex-Canucks defenseman believes

During a recent appearance on Sekeres and Price, former Vancouver Canucks defenseman Frank Corrado, who is now an analyst on TSN, spoke about the possibility of the team being a fit for former first round pick Jack Roslovic.

However, there could be one deterrent for the Vancouver Canucks when it comes to Jack Roslovic – money, as Corrado thinks he could be looking at $4 million as his next salary.

“I think if you’re Vancouver, you like the fact that he can create off the rush, which was something that was so difficult for them last season and he would be more naturally inclined to fit that need, but you’re talking about potentially another $4 million on the books maybe, when all is said and done.” Corrado said.

Roslovic, a native of Columbus, Ohio, is coming off a solid year for the Carolina Hurricanes where he registered 39 points (22 goals, 17 assists), along with ten penalty minutes and was a minus-ten in 81 games, adding four points in nine postseason contests.

If the Vancouver Canucks are wanting to bring Jack Roslovic on board for the 2025-26 season, which is possible, they’ll need to act quick as there are other teams around the NHL taking a look at the 28-year-old including the Toronto Maple Leafs, according to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period.
