The Dallas Stars have added another assistant to new head coach Glen Gulutzan’s staff.
David Pelletier is joining on as an assistant coach, the team announced Friday. Pelletier spent the last 11 years with the Edmonton Oilers and has experience working with Gulutzan.
Pelletier is the sixth assistant to join Gulutzan’s staff. Other staff members include Alain Nasreddine, Neil Graham, Jeff Reese, Patrick Dolan and Chris Demczuk.

Pelletier was recently Edmonton’s skating coach. Before joining the Oilers, Pelletier was a decorated figure skater. He won multiple awards in the sport, including a gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.
According to the Stars, Pelletier helped give Canada end a 42-year drought by winning the gold in pairs figure skating.
He also captured various honors after his figure skating career ended. Pelletier is a member of the Skate Canada Hall of Fame, the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame and the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame.
