Avalanche at Stars
Series tied 3-3
With goals from Valeri Nichushkin and Artturi Lehkonen, Colorado went up 2-0 in the first. But it didn’t take long for the pace to pick up in the second. Dallas tied the game less than four minutes into the period, and 53 seconds later, Marty Necas restored the Avs’ lead. The Stars responded with another two second-period goals to make it 4-3. Mikko Rantanen and Roope Hintz were the driving force behind that comeback, with points on every goal.
But in the third period, Colorado gained steam from Nichushkin to tie it, then Nathan MacKinnon to pull ahead. Two empty-netters sealed it, and set this series up for a deciding game.
