Grand Rapids Griffins top points producer Joe Snively has signed a one-year deal with Djurgardens of the Swedish Hockey League

This is a tough loss for the Griffins because Snively was among the top offensive performers in several categories.

Snively, 29, set career-high marks in goals (21), games played (72), penalty minutes (26), power-play goals (7), and shots (14). He ranked among the team leaders in games played (1st), points (1st), assists (3rd), goals (2nd), and power-play goals (T1st). He played three games in the Calder Cup Playoffs and showed one assist.

Red Wings In Case You Missede

Former Detroit defenseman Alexey Marchenko is earning more than $1 million next season playing in the Kontinental Hockey League.

Ex-Red Wings player Igor Larionov would rather be a soccer coach than a hockey coach.

Coach Todd McLellan’s team need Marco Kasper to take another step in his development path to give Detroit its best opportunity to make the NHL playoffs in 2025-26.

Red Wings Extra

Sportsnet.ca listed the top remaining UFAs, led by Jack Roslovic, Victor Olofsson and Matt Grzelcyk. But there doesn’t appear to be anyone that the Red Wings need to fill their last remaining roster spot.
