Joe Pavelski never won the Stanley Cup, but he now knows a championship feeling after registering an eagle on the 18th hole to win the American Century celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe.

Over his last three tournament appearances, Pavelski had finished second twice and third another time.

The tournament uses a Stableford format, awarding points for each hole’s score. A hole in one is worth eight points, an eagle is six, a birdie is three, par is one, and a bogey is zero points, with negative two points being awarded for a double bogey or worse. Some of the biggest stars in sports and entertainment participate in the annual event.

Pavelski won the $150,000 prize money by scoring a tournament-high 29 points in the final round Sunday. That included birdies on holes three, four, seven, 13, and 16, finishing the tournament with an eagle on the par-5 18th hole.
