The Edmonton Oilers could be eyeing a veteran solution in net, and they might have a potential target in the Pittsburgh Penguins roster.

With the Penguins trading for 2025 Calder Cup MVP Arturs Silovs from the Vancouver Canucks and prospect Joel Blomqvist set for a larger role, Tristan Jarry’s name is starting to gain traction as a potential trade candidate to leave Pittsburgh this offseason.
NHL insider Jeff Marek floated Jarry as a potential trade fit for Edmonton, following the general manager’s comments about the goal of bolstering the Oilers’ rotation in net.
“With the Pittsburgh Penguins acquiring Calder Cup MVP netminder Arturs Silovs… we start to wonder where Tristan Jarry will end up and how much the Pens will have to pay to move him,” Marek wrote. “Could this be a deal for the Edmonton Oilers?”

Jarry, 30, posted a 16–12-6 record with a 3.12 GAA and .893 save percentage last season. He has three years left on his five-year, $26.75 million deal. If moved, the Penguins would facilitate a clean transition to Silovs or Blomqvist as the starter and backup of the team next season.
With just a few thousand dollars of cap space available, the Oilers will need to weigh their options carefully and nail a great price/value addition if they end up going for a new goalie.
The Oilers, who recently lost their second straight Stanley Cup Final to the Florida Panthers, are known to be exploring options in net after uneven playoff performances from Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard.

Oilers general manager Stan Bowman acknowledged that roster changes are coming before the start of next season, with the goalie rotation atop the priority list.

“We’ll have to look at, probably more likely, the forwards and the goalies are the ones we’re going to evaluate the most,” Bowman said. “We’re going to examine not just our goalies, but our whole team, and see if there’s a way to be better prepared next season.”
