As the Vancouver Canucks look to make more big splashes this summer to improve their roster, they need to make some cap space to make it happen, and two key forwards lead the way.
But first, the Canucks needs to shed some contract off their book sin order to get the much needed cap space to acquire some big UFA’s, or make the necessary trades.
According to PuckPedia, the Vancouver Canucks now only have $795,000 in remaining cap space after signing Brock Boeser to his $7.25 million AAV deal, along with Demko and other notable names to league-minimum deals since July 1.It may be mid-summer, but #Canucks management isn’t «off to the cottage» just yet.
Hear the club is monitoring a couple of the UFA options still on the market. No surprise given their recent history.
VAN needs to move out cap dollars first, + they’re actively working to do so.
Dakota Joshua and Teddy Blueger could be available on the trade market if the Canucks need to open up cap space to execute something larger. Joshua has a 12-team no-trade list. He’s also dealt with a lingering hip injury, originally sustained in the latter half of this season.” Drance and Dhaliwal said.
It would make the most as their names have been actively in trade talks and reports that appear the Canucks are actively shopping the two, and if they need the cap space, be sure that Joshua nor Blueger will be on Vancouver come the star of the regular season.
