DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) – With only a month before the next school year begins, two Northland hockey programs are hosting summer tournaments filled with a variety of teams.
The Proctor Rails boys hockey team is hosting the SummerFest Hockey Tournament, featuring 12 programs from across Minnesota.
Teams include the defending Section 7AA champion Hibbing/Chisholm Bluejackets, Proctor Rails, Hermantown Hawks, Rock Ridge Wolverines, Duluth East Greyhounds, Cloquet/Esko/Carlton Lumberjacks, and more, including teams from the Twin Cities area.
The 2025 SummerFest Hockey Tournament games will take place at the St. Luke’s Sports and Events Center in Proctor and the Hermantown Ice Arena.
The Grand Rapids/Greenway Lightning girls hockey team is also hosting a summer tournament at Yanmar Arena in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, from Friday, July 18 to Sunday, July 20.
Participating teams include the G-R-G Lightning, Proctor/Hermantown Mirage, Duluth Northern Stars, Cloquet/Esko/Carlton Lumberjacks and more.
Games will consist of two, twenty-minute stop-time halves.
