COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The National Hockey League has announced the 32 nominees for the 2024-25 King Clancy Memorial Trophy. The award is given annually to the NHL player who best exemplifies leadership qualities both on and off the ice.
Zach Werenski has been chosen as the Blue Jackets representative.

The winner will be determined by a selection committee that includes Commissioner Gary Bettman, along with former winners of the King Clancy Memorial Trophy and the historic NHL Foundation Player Award.
The player with the most votes will receive the King Clancy Memorial Trophy and a $25,000 donation to a charity or charities of his choice. Additionally, the winner can opt for his club to receive a grant from the NHL, up to $20,000, to support a special activation related to his humanitarian cause.
The Blue Jackets continue their playoff push tonight at 7:00 p.m. when they play in Philadelphia against the Flyers.
