Among the highlights, the two-time Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers will visit Buffalo on Oct. 18, during a stretch in which the Sabres will play 10 of their first 15 games at home, and Jan. 12 as part of a season-long six-game homestand. Buffalo’s rival Toronto Maple Leafs will play here twice, Oct. 24 and March 14.

All-time scoring leader Alex Ovechkin will play in Buffalo with the Presidents Trophy-winning Washington Capitals on Nov. 1 and March 12. The Western Conference champion Edmonton Oilers and star Connor McDavid come to KeyBank Center on Nov. 17, and former Sabres captain Jack Eichel returns with the Vegas Golden Knights on March 3. Recently traded JJ Peterka and the Utah Mammoth play here Nov. 4.

Buffalo’s longest road trip of the season is six games starting Dec. 3 in Philadelphia before five games out west concluding with Dec. 14 date in Seattle. The Sabres will then play just three home games between Dec. 1 and Jan. 6, none during the holiday season. The team is on the road at Pittsburgh the night before Thanksgiving before hosting the New Jersey Devils on Black Friday. There also won’t be any games at KeyBank Center from Feb. 5 until March 3, as the NHL takes a three-week break for the Olympics, followed by a three-game road trip for the Sabres.
