Nazem Kadri Trade Rumors Given New Maple Leafs Update originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are searching for ways to improve the roster following another early playoff exit. However, this offseason, the Maple Leafs front office has to figure out a way to replace the production of star Mitch Marner.

Marner departed Toronto in free agency, agreeing to a massive deal with the Vegas Golden Knights. While the two sides worked out a sign-and-trade, losing Marner will likely have a big impact on the roster.
As the team looks to bring in more talent, the Maple Leafs have been linked to all sorts of players. One of those is star Nazem Kadri of the Calgary Flames, who could make a lot of sense for this Toronto squad.
However, a trade of Kadri won’t be easy and the Flames seem hesitant to move him. But according to NHL insider Nick Kypreos, Kadri may be willing to lift his no-move clause for a deal to either the Maple Leafs or Montreal Canadiens.

This is massive in terms of a potential deal for the Maple Leafs. While it may still take a lot to convince the Flames to trade Kadri, if he pushes for a deal, the team may have no choice but to oblige.
Kadri was the best player for the Flames last season, and he has been the leader of Calgary for a few years. For the Flames to trade him, it may take a large return, which is something that Toronto may not be able to offer.
Last season, Kadri posted 35 goals and 32 assists for the Flames. While he could help this Maple Leafs team go after a title, a return to Toronto seems to be a low possibility at this point.
